The teenage years (and parenting teens) can be a rollercoaster ride of transitions, excitement, and self-discovery. However, as the demands of life increase for teens, this time is often fraught with confusion, stress, and anxiety.
This 6 hour program provides simple tools designed to enhance awareness (mindfulness), and kindness for oneself and others (compassion) in response to life’s challenges. This program also addresses the concerns of excessive screen time, brain development and emotional intelligence in the young adult. Be Here, Be Kind, Be You is a program that empowers the student to live mindfully, compassionately and be true to themselves and their values. Participants will experience the techniques to help navigate the ups and downs of life with greater ease.
In a preliminary research study, a mindfulness self-compassion practice demonstrated a 32% decrease in depression, anxiety, perceived stress and negative mood.
Program may be customized for groups, individuals, and schools.
