What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga nidra is a guided meditation that is easy, healing and accessible to all.
Yoga nidra means yogic sleep. It’s the bliss state between awake and actual sleeping where deep healing can occur. Yoga Nidra systematically connects you with every level of being including your physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual layers called the five koshas. Through the use of breath awareness, body scan, healing music and imagery the meditation invites you to become aware of each layer without needing to change or fix anything. This is true meditation where there is nothing to do but to notice.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice which is thousands of years old. This type of yoga nidra - Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra - was refined by Jennifer Reis, my yoga nidra teacher and guide. Her recordings, bio and more information about yoga nidra can be found here.
